Top Recommended Shaving Products to Use

One of the great things about using an electric shaver is that you don’t need to worry about buying shaving cream foam or gels for a comfortable shave ever again. Some guys, however, still like the feel that an electric shaver gives when using “wet.” That’s why most Wahl shavers are designed for either wet or dry use. Consider having these shaving tools around:

1. Shaving cream, foam or gel

Shaving your face dry is possible, but it leaves you prone to nicks and can greatly irritate your skin. To make your shaving experience better and to save your skin, use shaving cream, shaving foam or shave gel. The type you choose (gel, foam or cream) is up to your personal preference.

2. Washcloth

Have a washcloth on hand for preconditioning the area to be shaved. This does two things:

1. A dry washcloth can help lightly exfoliate the skin, prepping it for shaving.
2. A wet washcloth helps dampen the face, prepping it for the shave cream, foam or gel.

A washcloth also helps wipe away excess shaving cream and loose hairs at the end of your shave.

3. Blade oil

Oiling your shaver blades with blade oil extends the lifespan and keeps the blades running smoother. This helps reduce hair pulling or snagging for a smooth shave.

4. Cleaning brush

You should clean your electric shaver often. A soft cleaning brush or canister of compressed air will help you clean your shaver easily. A clean shaver makes your shaving experience better.

Oiling Your Shaver Blades

Oiling the blades reduces friction and keeps the clippers from pulling and snagging. A drop of oil at the corners of the blades, as well as the foot of the blade, is all it takes.

Move the Oil Around to Lubricate the Blades

Turn the clipper on to help work the oil in.
