Boxed Beard
Its shape tells you everything you need to know about the name. A mix of mustache and chin whiskers, this look provides a frame of facial hair around your mouth.
Make it Yours
- 1
Using your Wahl® trimmer or shaver, closely trim or shave your cheeks, leaving both the mustache and the hair on your chin.
- 2
Using your shaver, create a vertical line of hair about half-inch wide from the corner of the mouth to your chin. Do the same on both sides, paying close attention to keeping them even.
- 3
Using your trimmer, trim the upper edge of your mustache to create a sharp border, leaving just a half-inch of hair. The hair should create a boxed shape from above your lip to your chin.
- 4
Make sure to remove hair in the soul patch area and on the face of the chin.

Product SelectorAdditional Goatee Tips

Experiment with shapes that look best with your facial features and also work with the time you want to spend maintaining said style

Thickness can be managed with a snap on length guide comb or an adjustable length guide comb

Longer around the mouth styles should always be trimmed in the direction of hair growth

Shorter around the mouth styles can be trimmed with or against hair growth

Make sure to use the detail blade, available with many Wahl trimmers, to get into tight spaces and create tighter lines

Always clean up loose or long hair around the lips

Some goatee-esque styles require attention every couple of days while others only need re-shaping a few times a month
