4 Essential Oils Your Grooming Products Should Have

Not all men's grooming products are created equal. While the scent is half the allure, the ingredients that help protect a man’s hair and skin are just as important. This fueled the creation of Wahl’s new premium line of Wet Goods which includes four essential oils we call the W-Blend. Each of Wahl’s new products contain this carefully developed combination of enhancing essential oils that help keep hair and skin looking healthy, smelling great and feeling fresh.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was the W-Blend. The Wahl family carefully tested over 30 different scents and combinations while working directly with world-class chemists to create a product that performs while leaving behind an alluring aroma. A man’s smell, a man’s preference—the Wahl W-Blend begins with these four essential oils.

Manuka Oil

Manuka oil is harvested from native tea trees using the leaves, flowers and branches. Manuka oil is primarily harvested in New Zealand. It is used in many skin products thanks to its naturally-occurring anti-bacterial properties which have been known to treat skin disorders. As it is used to combat skin conditions, Manuka oil is effective when treating dandruff of the scalp leaving behind only the relaxing aroma.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil

This oil is the most stable vegetable oil in the world. Thanks to the fatty acids, Meadowfoam seed oil allows a fragrance to absorb rapidly into the skin meaning the scent locks in, lingers and lasts longer than others. Native to California and Oregon, Meadowfoam seed oil moisturizes deeper while locking the moisture into the hair, be that on your head or on your face, rather than remaining superficial. Meadowfoam seed oil has also been shown to help soften skin by locking in moisture over time, not a rapid absorption like some other oils.

Clove Oil

Extracted from dried flowers from the clove, clove oil has been used for everything from fragrance to flavoring to pain relief from a toothache. Clove oil is packed with antimicrobial properties and has been shown to reduce certain bacteria which can cause pimples and rashes. The eugenol found in clove oil is proven to increase blood flow which can lessen the appearances of fine lines, increase circulation in the scalp and boost hair growth reducing or preventing hair loss. The fragrance of clove oil is warm, woody and spicy.

Moringa Oil

Naturally occurring in the seed of the Moringa Oleifera, also known as the drumstick tree, Moringa oil is best known for the anti-aging properties. Dense with antioxidants, Moringa oil has been used to treat dry scalps as it can strengthen the roots thus strengthening the hair and combating split ends. And, of course, it leaves behind only a fresh, manly scent.
